Wool for Cornell Sheep Program Blankets

This pile of wool is part of that from the 300+ ewes shorn for the March 2006 lambing. Each fleece must be sorted (mainly to remove burdocks, which we are trying to eliminate from our pastures the the Teaching & Research Center hay fields grazed in the autumn and winter) and packed into 400-pound bales before being shipped to the woolen mill.
