This
Excel spreadsheet calculates
the value of the yardage (management, labor, bedding, capital in
the
lot
and equipment) for feeding lambs to heavier
weights.
Inputs (default values are given):
- Price of feed in dollars per ton
- Feed to gain ratio
- Average daily gain
- Interest rate on feed lamb
- Current weight and price per lb
- Final weight and price per lb
- Percentage death loss
Outputs:
- Value of current lamb
- Value of heavier lamb
- Daily yardage (return to management, labor, bedding, capital
equipment) value
- Break even price assuming an actual yardage value.
